Four steps

5 minutes per point, half a day to learn

No professional equipment or license is needed. If a value is not yet reliable, the screen tells you on the spot, so you never find out about a failure after you get home.

01

Name the point

Pick a feature you can find again and enter a name and note. Everything you record next is saved to this point.

Leave the phone on the spot and collect. The first few seconds jump around, then it settles. Outliers are filtered out automatically.

The struck-through rows on screen 02 are samples filtered out for large deviation. Right after collection starts, fixes can be off by up to 30 meters; after a few seconds they settle. The point of this procedure is that the screen tells you on site how far a value can be trusted.

We ran this exact procedure on September 16, 2026, at national unified control point U-Pocheon 15 and checked the result against the true coordinate. On site, there is no need to visit a control point. Use features you can find again, such as manhole covers or parking lines. Results from all four methods are on the field record page.
